PROPOSAL AT A GLANCE

Proposal name:
Working Title: ADVISOR2 (Adaptive Training and Learning in Organisational Context through Collaborative Practice)
Subject:
The ADVISOR2 project aims to focus on the training and learning cycle of individuals (e.g. employees) in organisations. Hereby, the focus shall rest primarily on the post-training phase (or also called: work practice), as up to now, these fields of research seem to be undervalued. The post-training phase seems to be essential as it represents the phase where the acquired knowledge should be turned into practice and/or applied in practice. This means for most organisations the application of the before acquired knowledge for and within the execution of its day-to-day business processes. Thus, the linkage of business processes on the one hand and the learning structure, routine, and material on the other is the major focus of this proposal.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Proposal Outline:
Background

Acquiring knowledge and life-long learning are the most important characteristics of today’s economy and shall thus be supported adequately by organisations within their possibilities. Thus, the linkage of the afore-mentioned business processes with the learning structure, routine, and material as well as the support of the learner with Web 2.0 technologies seem to be one essential step forward in this field of research.

Project Objectives and Activities

  • Development of software packages that allow the linkages between daily executed business processes and learning structure, routine, and materials
  • Support of these linkages with state-of-the-art technologies (as e.g. MDA, Web 2.0 technologies) to enable learners (e.g. employees) to acquire the knowledge that they need
  • Combine the technical scenario with pedagogical and didactical ones for supporting different learner types and for gaining two important factors of the FP7 Challenge 4: adaptability and mass-individualisation
  • Distribution and testing of these scenarios in various practical environments
Keywords:
life-long learning, business processes and learning structure, routine, and materials, mass-individualisation, adaptability of learning contents and materials
