The Enterprise Unified Exchange (EUX2010)
Subject:
The EUX2010 is a new project focusing on enhancing the communication and possibilities of interaction in the networked environment in and between businesses and official bodies in the EU.
The purpose of this project is to develop an IP-based communication solution founded on open standards and open-source software. The aim is to provide location indifferent solutions that through open interfaces will give users the solution for information their communication needs. This will include human interaction as well as human-machine and machine to machine communication. The solution, will utilize the Internet as infrastructure, but must also uphold the quality and at least the security of the present communication networks.
Through interaction between IT-developing and scientific research the project will develop and select the standards and protocols to be used for interhuman and intertechnological communication in the EU.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Proposal Outline:
The project is focusing on analysing the present communications platforms to enhance and develop an open standard that will enable intercommunication between networks and applications. This will enable the users of new and existing communication services to have their demands met regardless of their location or context. The project will also enable the in-house and externally hosted services (CRM, calendar, mail etc.) to interact with the communication system providing a convergence between systems that in the past were separated. At last the EUX2010 project will define the routing schemes between users of the system in a context of least cost based routing and an intelligent service provision.
