Open Biosignal Recording Database
Subject:
The main objective of this project is to develop a general-purpose normative database combining Electroencephalogram signals (EEG), Magnetoencephalogram (MEG) data and Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). Moreover, genetic information will be correlated with clinical information in order to find out relation between them all.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Proposal Outline:
The main objective of this project is to develop a general-purpose normative database combining Electroencephalogram signals (EEG), Magnetoencephalogram (MEG) data and Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI). Moreover, genetic information will be correlated with clinical information in order to find out relation between them all.
The database will be linked to an expert system able to diagnose and predict future diseases and even recommend other tests and treatments.
In addition, some users tools will be implemented to complete the system:
· 3D visualization brain tools getting images by meaning of the combination of the following techniques:
o Loreta EEG
o Magneto EEG
o fMRI
· Training tool, to be used by next generation of doctors and investors, minimizing costs and the risk of possible medical errors.
· Parameters extraction tool, as a new method to get the key parameters involved in every medical case and disease.
Finally, to demonstrate the impact and potential of the system a compact, portable and wireless EEG biomedical sensors will be developed, this subsystem will be connected with the main database, sending information to the expert system, able to give rapid feedback and direct recommendations. In the same way the portable biomedical system can be used to early diagnosis.
