The iTRAM goal is to reduce the number of car accident by prediction of traffic situations that may lead to accident using data fusion and geospatial data mining technologies.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Proposal Outline:
The iTRAM system will use sensors that will be located in the road infrastructure (such as video cameras) in order to build real time situation picture of the traffic activity.
Based on the situation picture the system will perform real time geospatial analysis to detected geospatial scenarios that are leading to higher probability situation of car accidents (for example - a sadden slow down in the traffic 200 meter forward). When such a situation is detected a notification is given to relevant vehicles using multiple types of methods.
The project intends to include several validation sites in different environments (highways, tunnels, urban etc.) and different conditions in order to measure the system performance and to guarantee that the iTRAM system will meet the real requirements of the users.
The iTRAM proposal is for 6.2 (b) - "Field Operational Test" focus.

Required skills and Expertise:
The iTRAM consortium is searching for end users, a city or local municipality that will provide urban validation sites that include several junctions in order to validate the project concept in urban environments.
Description of work to be carried out by the partner(s) sought:
The end users will participate in the requirements definition stage of the project, the collection of data for the testing and validation stages of the project, as well as participate in the actual tests and validations and the analysis of the results.
