PROPOSAL AT A GLANCE

Proposal name:
EDURTL: Event Driven Unified Continual Real Time Learning.
Subject:

Project EDURTL aims to develop and implement new approach of learning from different perspectives. This will enable to create a Best Practice for learning and to disseminate it in BPM (Business Process Modeling). In addition, it will be the ultimate way for self learning and feedback and for oganizations.
The project will develop a learning methodology based upon deducing conclusions from exceptional case studies (events). In addition, the methodology and the implemented system will work in real time mode to detect those events. This will enable to implement the proposed system on infrastructures such as CTI (Computer-telephony integration), IVR (Interactive Voice Response). The third dimension of innovation of EDURTL will be the unification of data sources such as emails, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) and additional sources of media.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Proposal Outline:

Project EDURTL will extend the concept of learning systems. The required cooperation will help to extend it in the following dimension: the objects of sampling, the frequency of sampling and the source of sampling. The project will enable its users to enhance their performance and skills and to align with organizational approaches and goals.
According to recent research Problem-Based-Learning is considered one of the most effective ways for learning. The case study learning approach of Problem-Based-Learning is one way of implementing this methodology. We are looking for ways to detect the relevant cases and to sample them in real time. In addition, we would like to extend this functionality for using different sources of data including PDAs, emails, CTI, IVR and more.
The project will collect and analyze experimental results and will provide feedback and measurements of the effectiveness of the methodology. In addition the results of the experiment will suggest best practices for learning.
This Best Practice might be integrated in BPM, used for self learning and becoming standard methodology for organizations for assimilation of their culture and approaches.
Cooperation between project's partners will be added and integrated in the one platform with a view to:
1. develop a unified platform for learning and feedback from multiple sources of information
2. empower best practice approach for Problem-Based-Learning case studies
3. promote the research and development in real time learning and feedback
4. strength the linkage and build a network between academy, research institutions and software companies.
Activities foreseen:
WP1: Project management and Quality control
WP2: System architecture design
WP3: Methodology development
WP4: Software development & integration
WP5: System trials
WP6: Measurements & Validation
WP7: Results Analysis
