This Conference “Fostering scientific and research co-operation between the Eastern European and the Southern Caucasus countries and the EU” is  is co-organised by the EU-funded FP7 EXTEND project and IDEAL-IST project.

The Conference will address Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) stakeholders such as

• leading researchers and
• experts from academia and industry and representatives of Ministries from the Eastern Europe and Southern Caucasus countries.

The conference aims to make research communities of the region aware of funding opportunities offered by the Framework Programmes of EU and foster potential co-operations through dedicated networking activities. During the Conference, the regional ICT research environment will be discussed, the forthcoming ICT challenges of the 7th Framework Programme will be explored and collaboration both within the region and with Europe will be pursued.

Moreover, the IDEAL-IST network will organise a brokerage event within the conference, targeting ICT Objective 1.1, 1.2 and 9.2. topics open in Call 5 and Call 6!

The aim is to inform and assist prospective proposers, and it will give participants the chance

• to network,
• to find partner for their project ideas and
• to get the latest information about ICT Challenge 1 and 9. 

 This event will give a description of the objectives within the calls and provide a unique opportunity to R&D actors across the region to meet and exchange contacts.

Venue: at the conference hall of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, which is situated at the central Avenue (Rustaveli Ave.) of Tbilisi.
